Linda Banner Applique Workshop
Workshop - February 22, 2025
Applique. Do you love it or hate it? Maybe hand applique scared you off. A new approach may be the fix!
I hope to give many approaches to applique by machine--Turned-edge-(glue stick or starch),Raw edge (fusible or not -upside down), Reverse, Broderie Perse. One of these techniques may become your favorite and add to your skill resources. Applique has too many benefits to pass up.
I have been appliqueing for over 45 years. I started with hand applique and needle turn. Over the years I have learned I will not live long enough to finish all I want to do this way and have resorted to the sewing machine. I love the look of hand applique, so that is what I try to duplicate by machine. My work has garnered many ribbons from Vermont Quilt Festival , the Quilters Gathering, NE Images, Nebraska Sate Fair., and NQA shows. I look forward to helping you acquire the skills to do applique any way.

Ruler Work Workshop with Adele Scott - Westalee 6 Piece Sampler Set - Basics or Review
Workshop - March 22, 2025
After a few basics to get everyone started, then the fun begins! It’s like bowling with “bumpers”, the rulers keep you on track as you create many classic designs. We all can quilt like the pros. Ruler work is the first step to regular free-motion – it’s the training wheels for your free-motion future. Great for new or review students. From attaching your ruler foot, adjusting it for proper height, set-up tips and recommended products. Then we explore some of the different patterns available with your Westalee Sampler Set. Leave with a confidence and knowledge base to start quilting real quilts without the hours of practice! Review students have the option for different designs if they’d like. A good foundation for all ruler-work students. Many take this more than once to absorb all the info and increase their design library.

What’s a fashion show? Well you know… It will be a night where we get dressed up in anything we’ve sewn ourselves that is clothing. Go ahead, I dare you to cut up that quilt and make a jacket. Sew some patches on your pants or wear a shirt you made. Whatever it is that you have made from sewing – go ahead and wear it. Don’t forget those bags too! And remember to bring your sense of humor. Nothing better than strutting your stuff and your Sew-Jo on the runway!
