The Sunshine program is designed to show our members that we care about them during important events in their lives. Sunshine in the way of a card with a kind message will be sent for Hospitalizations, Milestone Anniversaries, births, and other major life events as appropriate. In the case of a death, flowers or a donation to their charity of choice are sent.

Available for our members to get together and quilt with others from our guild! More information is available at guild meetings or in our newsletter.

Twice a year, AQG members gather for a creative and relaxing getaway at the beautiful St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH. Our Fall and Winter Retreats draw 50–68 participants for a weekend (or long weekend!) of sewing, laughter, and friendship. Members enjoy spacious sewing areas, delicious meals, and cozy accommodations in either the Bunkhouse or Lodge. Optional chair and table massages, shared ironing stations, and plenty of time to sew, learn, and connect make each retreat a memorable experience. Whether you come for the creativity or the camaraderie, AQG retreats are the perfect way to recharge and share your passion for quilting in a welcoming, scenic setting.

We are proud to support the amazing regional resource that is the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, MA.  Our guild raises funds to support the museum through a raffle at our bi-annual quilt show and a March fund-drive in non-quilt-show years.

Our talented member, Kristi, has worked to create an interesting Challenge Project this year. Get those creative juices flowing, and enjoy the challenge of interpreting a song title as a form of textile art! Kristi provides a few project guidelines, and signups will be held at the September and October meetings. It only costs $5 to join the fun, and the challenge entries will be revealed and voted upon at the March 2026 meeting. The top vote recipient will receive a cash prize!

Our talented member, Celeste, has once again designed a mystery quilt in 3 sizes - wall, twin, and queen - and will reveal it in 3 sets of instructions to participating members during the months of September/October, November, and December. The cost to participate is $5, and that money will be used for prizes that will be awarded to randomly selected participants that complete their quilt top and show at the reveal in May. Sign-ups for the 2025-26 Mystery Quilt will take place at our September and October Guild Meetings.

Throughout the year, A Quilted Gift committee has various activities to support our local charities. The Quilted Gift Program puts together kits for members to make, prepares batting and backing to allow the quilts to be quilted and bound by members. They also accept other completed tops and quilts members have completely finished and wish to donate. The Committee then decides who to donate the quilts to and arranges drop off. Depending on the volume on hand they may accept fabric donations. In the last 5 years over 850 quilts have been donated to various programs and charities!

The Cases of Caring  program invites members of the Amoskeag Quilters Guild to make fun and attractive pillowcases. We donate  these pillowcases to various local charities to bring cheer to children, veterans, and shut-ins. Members can pick up kits at the monthly meetings and return completed pillowcases to the chairperson. Every other year, we host a workshop in March to create as many pillowcases as possible. Directions for completing a pillowcase is included.

The Guild puts on "Tomorrow's Heirlooms Quilt Show" every two years. To find out more about our upcoming show, please click here!

One method we use to give back to the community is to create a quilt as a guild and then raffle it with the entire proceeds going to our designated charity. Every other membership year, the guild votes upon which charity will be the recipient of our group efforts and then creates a quilt and spends a year in efforts to raffle it off.  This year we will be supporting Kidneys for Kindness!
