New Meeting Location, Day & Time starting September 20, 2012

As many our members know we have been looking for a new facility to house our general guild meetings.  Although Grace Episcopal Church has met some of our needs such as parking, well lit room, a place for our library, and storage of our hospitality bins as well as staff that is willing to work with the guild to meet our needs it has become apparent that we just don’t have enough room at Grace Episcopal Church and the stairs from the parking lot and up into the main hall are an issue for some of our members.

Several members of the AQG board have been searching for a place that would meet all of our needs.

Needs identified were: low rent, a well lit room, plenty of parking, more space, to be able to keep our library cabinet, storage for our hospitality bins, no stairs OR a handicap accessible ramp.  We would also like a sound system, kitchen space and plenty of chairs and a good supply of tables.

We were able to find such a space after many suggestions and phone calls.  It has everything on our list – it is within our budget, a large well lit room, plenty of chairs for everyone, a place for our library, storage for our hospitality bins, and a handicap accessible ramp.  There is a catch though – it is not available on Friday evenings.

After careful consideration the board voted unanimously to move our meetings to Thursday night in order to take advantage of all this new place has to offer.

Starting in September our meeting night will move to the 3rd Thursday of the month.  Our first meeting will be September 20th at the Emmanuel Baptist Church located just over the Manchester line in Hooksett, NH.  The address is 14 Mammoth Road, Hooksett, NH.

The entrance that we will use for our meetings is on the side of the church building and is the entrance with the handicap ramp.  There is plenty of parking located in the front, side and rear of the church and don’t fret about walking from the rear parking lot up to the side entrance as there is a back entrance that can be used.  The board also considered those that need to tuck in early for work so we are going to try moving the meeting start time up to 7:00pm from 7:15pm.  Depending on what we hear from the majority of our active members we may move the start time up even earlier – we will wait and see.  The board hopes that all our members will continue their membership in the guild and will check out the new meeting space, day and time come September.

We will continue meeting at Grace Episcopal Church on Lowell Street on the third Friday of the month until our contracted end date on May 18th.
