Our guest speakers are looking forward to come at our January meeting and give us the opportunity learn about their charitable organization and the important work and support they are providing in our community. Following this presentation the guild members will select the charity that will be receiving the proceedings of the new raffle quilt. These are the nominees:

  • Veterans Count: Veterans Counts provides critical and timely financial assistance and services when no other resource is available to veterans, service members and their family, to ensure their dignity, health and overall well being. This organization continue to ensure that 90% of net dollars raised for Veterans Count is spent to provide services and grow resources for N.H. veterans, service members and their families.
  • Girls Incorporated: For girls in our communities, every day brings new opportunities, challenges and choices. The ability to respond with thoughtful, informed decisions at home, school and with friends and peers can be a big step toward confident, healthy and fulfilling careers and lives. At Girls Incorporated of N.H., we know every girl, regardless of her age, background, interests or dreams, has potential for greatness. Our mission and passion is to help girls achieve their personal best through one-on-one attention, leadership development, a talented staff and volunteers, a wide range of enrichment programs and a caring environment.
  • The V.A. Medical Center, Manchester NH: The Guild in the past has supported our local VA Medical Center by providing quilts and other handmade items for the veterans. But now we have the chance to make a large monetary donation to the VA in support of their mission of providing medical care and services to the US military veterans. Cash donations are used for the comfort and welfare of our veteran patients, including: hygiene products, refreshment supplies, cable television for spinal cord injury patients, and recreational activities.
  • The Birthday Treasure Chest: This charity is one of the ministry group at Ste. Marie Parish here in Manchester. Their mission is to help parents/guardians to provide birthday gift for their children, they also have supplies to gift wrap and when possible even birthday cakes. 
  • Teen Challenge of N.H.: Teen Challenge N.H. provides adults, teens and families with an effective and comprehensive Christian faith-based solution, clinical counseling, and life-coaching for drugs, alcohol, and other life-controlling problems in order to become productive members of society.
  • S.T.A.R.S. (Scholarship Trust for Addiction Recovery Services, Inc.): STARS (Scholarship Trust for Addiction Recovery Services, Inc.) is a grassroots organization that raises and distributes funds in New Hampshire for motivated individuals seeking support in their recovery from their substance use disorder. The S.T.A.R.S. Program has been a vital part of New Hampshire’s Recovery Society for a number of year. Our goal is to assist in alleviating some of the costs for motivated individuals who are looking for assistance in their early recovery process. As we continue to grow we can not do it without the help of our donors and volunteers that make our mission possible.”

To participate bring in one or more carefully cut 2½” strips based on the list below and the member-ship committee will give you one raffle ticket for each strip you bring. One lucky winner takes home all the strips.
