Quick Quilting Tips

Tip #107 - Basting a Quilt Top
When you are ready to baste a quilt, tape the backing to the floor, then place the batting on top, and finally the quilt top. Slip a marble under all 3 layers to create a "bump" so it's easy to stitch through the quilt without scratching the floor. Roll the marble to wherever you need to baste.

Amoskeag Quilters Guild

ImageA group of ladies met in 1988 as a result of a common interest—quilting. From that meeting sprung the Amoskeag Quilter's Guild. Since then, we've grown to a membership of over 200 participants. Together, we meet to share our love of quilting and to learn from each other. But this is not just a social group. We also commit our time and knowledge and joy of quilting in the form of charitable contributions and service to our community. Oh, and there's the food, fun, and camaraderie!

Meeting Location

Effective September 2006, we will be meeting at a new venue:

Brady Sullivan Building

Mapquest link:
1750 Elm St
Manchester, NH 03104-2907, US

Our general guild meetings are held the third Friday of each month from September through the following May at 7:00pm. Visitors are welcome!
